When to book
Soon after landing, or soon after the resolution reaches you. The window for asking for the card runs from that entry or that notification, and free slots in the province are not always on offer within the week.
Search the online cita previa for a huellas slot at your station, and pay the 790-012 under the card’s heading before the day.
Bring with you
- The EX-17, signed
- Your passport, visa page included when you came in on one
- A recent colour photo of passport size, white background
- Your resolution, if an authorisation was granted
- The 790-012, paid under the card heading
- Your appointment confirmation
Picking up the card
Production starts after your prints are taken. You collect in person, with the receipt handed to you that day, normally at the same station; sometimes collection needs its own slot, and the receipt or the station explains how.

Two. Your NIE is a number; the TIE is the plastic card displaying it for a non-EU resident, beside your photo and permit.
Which stations around here take fingerprints?
TIE issuance is listed at Plaça d’Orleans, Reus and Tortosa. Your comarca of residence decides between them, according to the Delegación del Gobierno.
May I travel while the card is pending?
Leaving without a valid card can make coming back difficult. For some of these situations a return authorisation exists: ask about it before buying tickets.
